8th Annual Day Celebration……

There was Chuttuvellaku and Niramala, on 10th May 2008, at Kodakara Temple.

By the grace of God, we had yet another Annual day, with some difference, and suggestions.

The day began with lighting of the lamp by Bhargavi Cheechi, as Nallaman and Januammai was a little late in reaching, and prayer song from Vaishnavi. Then there was welcome by the president, reading of the report by Secretary, and accounts by Treasurer, who thanked all the contributors for the event, the fund for 10 years, and the help to Chandran Uncle.

There was especial Thanks to Raviman, for his timely and unsolicited help by way of a huge sum of money, when Chandran Uncle was in need.

There were surprise questions asked, to be answered to a certain person named now and then, the whole day like, person having husbands photo on their mobile, 60+ to sing a song, person first touching previous years secretary, to name the ad. when captions were said. The specialty of today, being Mothers day.

Sharika, Sharanya and Neeraj was running around actively to get the details of the family members, to create our new directory.

Shasiman and Nandhan Chettan, where inchare of collecting the yearly contribution.

Items this year where:

1. Toffee picking, for kids, less than five years of age, but kids were not very interested.
2. With the Family Tree, could create interest and liveliness as expected. The winning team member of 10 had food items. Unfortunately there was only one price for that.
3. Then there was the Candle race for ladies which had wholehearted participation. In saree folding for men, the participants where less.
4. Musical chair was for Children, ladies and gents.
5. Another special event this year was the one for couples, which was won by Kishapan and Remya.
6. And the individual songs this year had the karaoke, and there were many beautiful songs, by young and old, single and duet…Eak se badkar eak. Thanks for the Karoke, and the musical backgroud through out, to Rajeev Cheetan & family from Vennala.
7. The Anthakshary round had the dumshards round which was very interesting, and overall it was well organised by Aparna, except that it had still scopes for improvement, as there were many unknown songs.
8. Then there was in the end, the Bombing of the City, and the winner was Pinky, D/o Valsan Chettan, Kodakara.

This years new active rising star was indeed Aparana, with her beautiful Papa Kahathey hey song, the duet with father and organising both Anthakashary and the couples round with help from her cousin Gayathree who had always been there behing everything, right from organising, buying prizes, packing them, till the end, winding up. And next was Ravi chettan from Thripunithara with his duet, Sportsmanship, and Anthakshari.

Anoop S/o Raghu & Usha from Kodakara And Gayathree D/0 Prema & Rohit, Ernakulam got the prizes for their marks in 10th.

Suggestions received where:
1. Fantastic.
2. Gifts should be given as book, so that there would be reading habit among children.
3. To a new born, instead of giving powders and creams, which are harmful, it would be good, if a deposit is made into account, which by the time it matures would be a great help for the child.
4. Elemination round, is needed only when there is a tie.

In the end, there was the prize distribution and election for the Executive Committee of the next year. It was decided to continue with the present members, with just few changes.
This was our answer to the ‘Future shocks’ and the poem Leisure:
What is this life if full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
